Hello there, I have a PhD offer from UT-Dallas and another one from University of Rochester. Both are funded- UTD(stipend around 1.8k and UR stipend around 2.3k) I think both are great offers but I'm confused as to which would be better for me. for University of Rochester, I have a supervisor while for UTD, I do not have a supervisor yet, and I'll have to find one after I start classes. My interest is in NLP and ML, but I have not been able to narrow it down any further. I think that talking to alumni or current students of the institution would help immensely. Is there anyone here who have attended either of these programs? If so, what did you or did not like about your program? How are the programs viewed in terms of career opportunities in the industry and academia? How helpful are the professors and what is expected of you in terms of research? If there is anyone who's going to either of these programs this time, what are your reasons for attending this program?

Hello there! I'm an out-of-field student (majored in History) who is looking to apply to grad school for SLP for Fall 2019! I'm currently looking at the following schools: San Jose State University CSU East Bay UT Dallas Northern Arizona University Marquette University Montclair State University Grand Valley State University University of the Pacific University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign Here are my stats: 3.97 GPA, Currently taking prerequisite classes and will have 2 by application, 161V/160Q/4.5W. I was a teaching intern at a literacy/creative writing nonprofit, worked at my college's writing center for 3 years, worked with elderly people at a safe/affordable housing nonprofit, was an AmeriCorps college access counselor for low-income high school students of color, and currently work at a speech therapy private practice with preschoolers. I'm also certified as a Registered Behavior Technician and hope to soon start doing ABA therapy at my current job. Is there anything else I can do to improve my application? What are my chances for getting into the schools above? Thanks!

Can anyone aid me in my decision, I just need some information and other opinions. 1. University of Maryland, College Park. M.Eng in Systems Engineering. 2. University of Texas Dallas. MS Systems Engineering. 3. Rutgers Master of Information Technology (MIT) 4. Oklahoma State University MS MIS (Management of Information Systems) These are the schools I got into, and now I can't decide. a) Should I pursue Systems Engineering or Information Systems, being an international student I do not have a detailed idea of which is better as far as job prospects go, what I do know is that Systems is meant for engineers with experience and may be tough to find a job in. Can anyone confirm this? b)If Systems, is Maryland or Dallas the better option, Maryland is cheaper (as far as M.Eng goes anyway) c) Lastly, Rutgers, the program is appealing (and costly) and again the main confusion is should I pick this instead of Systems? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi all, I'm a little confused by the UT Dallas portal. It says my app is incomplete and awaiting my official transcript, but from what I've seen they only want your official transcript after you've been offered admission. Does everyone's portal say incomplete awaiting documents??

I'm trying to decide between UT Dallas and University of Houston for SLP! Anyone have any comments about their experience from each graduate program? I heard a lot of people love UT Dallas because apparently it's less stressful than other places, great connections, Callier Center etc. I'm attracted to UH because they offer a Medical-SLP specialty track.
