Hi! I just got into Villanova's psychology masters program for the fall. I am from NY and will either be completing my master degree in NY at Queens College or away at Villanova. This is a big decision for me as I have never previously gone away to school. I also didn't receive any stipend/finding as I applied too late. I know Villanova has a wonderful reputation as a university but does anyone know anything about their reputation in the psych world? I feel that having Villanova on my resume might help with my future applications to PHD/PsyD programs, but how recognized is Villanova's psych pr

Hey y'all, So I'm trying not to obsess over the fact that two people already received acceptances to Villanova's MA program, even though the application deadline isn’t even until March 1st. I applied for the Graduate Assistantship – CASA when I applied for the English program, because the deadline for the GA -CASA is March 6th. I just have a couple of questions. 1) Why put the application deadline so late and, apparently, accept people before that? What does that mean? 2) Why make the funding opportunities have applications the same time as the program applicatio

Alright, I need help making a decision between two fully funded offers. I've been beating myself up over this and just can't work it out by myself. Please, all relevant opinions are welcome! The two programs: The MA/PhD English lit program at UIUC (ranked #26) or the English MA at Villanova (unranked). My interests include gender and queer studies. And I'm currently interested largely in the ability of language to oppress and liberate people within these groups. THE CASE FOR UIUC: -Better ranking (I'm pretty sure I want to get a PhD elsewhere and UIUC might make it easie

I just thought I would drop in and see if anyone else out there is going to be starting at Villanova in the Fall. If so, send me a PM- I would love to chat with you!

Hi guys. I have been admitted to two Master's programs and would appreciate any advice you may have to offer. The first is Chicago's one-year MAPH program and the second is Villanova's two-year MA in English. Chicago cannot offer any funding, however, while Villanova is offering a Tuition Fellowship (though no stipend). Part of my thinks it would be insane to turn down the opportunity to study at Chicago for a year and have access to top-ten faculty and resources, even if it means going into considerable debt for tuition/living expenses. That same part of me justifies it by pointing

I have applied for a Masters in English at Wake Forest and Villanova. I have been in touch with graduate directors/assistants throughout the application process and recently told them that I would like to visit the campuses and wanted to know if the directors or any professors would be able to meet with me. The Villanova director said she would be glad to meet and I am going up there on Monday for an informal meeting; no one has referred to it as an interview. I am also touring around campus with her assistant, who has been very helpful to me throughout the process. Wake Forest respond

Hello all! If there is anyone out there familiar with the Villanova M.S. program, I'd love to find out what you think my chances of admission are. My stats are... GPA- 3.44 (3.7 in final 60 credits) GRE- V(167/710) Q(158/740) A(5) 3 strong recommendations 2 semesters of research experience 1 semester clinical internship 1 semester as a TA I didn't realize until very late in the game that I wanted to focus on social psychology, thus my extra-curricular experience is sort of all over the board. Any input regarding my chances or recommendations for how I might improve my chances
