  1. Hey guys, I was wondering about who has applied to bachelor of education or teaching programs in Ontario! I have some questions: Which schools have you applied to? For what age concentration? What are your teachables? What was your GPA? What relevant experience did you have? I've applied to OISE, UOIT, and York for intermediate/senior. My teachables are biology & social science. I had a ~4.0 GPA in my last 2 years. I worked in a local high school for the past 2 years.
  2. Hey there! As it says, I'm trying to decide between Saarland University (Germany) and the University of York (UK) for an LLM in Human Rights Law. The aspects I'm most intrigued about in my grad program is that the Master's has a practical focus, either through outside opportunities for practical engagement with human rights law, or through integration in the courses themselves, or both! Q: One thing that is important to me is also the career opportunities after graduating. I'm having difficulty finding any information to be able to compare the universities on this basis, so any advice on
  3. Hi everyone, I recently got accepted to York's 2-year MSW program and got off the waitlist for UBC Okanagan's 2-year (foundational) MSW program. I'm having a hard time deciding between the two and was wondering if anyone had any insight for either of these programs. I live in the Greater Toronto Area, so that really draws me to York since they offer a considerable amount of funding as well. The offer that I received from UBC-O has no funding and living in Kelowna seems to be expensive. I am interested in clinical social work, but at the same time I am curious about other aspect
  4. Hi, I've been recently accepted to the MA programme at SPTH and would like to learn more about it, about funding, relationship with the faculty, where to live, etc. As I can't visit the school I'd like to talk to someone who is in the programme or knows about it well. Anyone??
  5. Hello everyone. This is my first post on this website. I'm in a strange predicament. GRE Score Quant: 167 (93rd percentile) Verbal 164 (94th percentile) Writing: 5.0 (93rd percentile) My GPA however, in BA Economics and Mathematics degree is 3.28. I'm applying mostly to Canadian universities, namely McGill, UToronto, York, and Memorial university. Very realistically, how good are my chances in any of these places, given slightly average recommendations and a personal statement. Please be honest. I'm open to criticism and advice here.
  6. Forum created for those who applied to York University's MSW program for the Fall 2016 entrance. Please share your experience: have you been accepted? wait-listed? rejected? still waiting to hear from them? Here is insight on the program from a current student to ensure that York is a right fit for you: On 2016-03-16 at 1:13 PM, serendipitous22 said: Hi everyone. I'm currently in the MSW program at York University. I remember very well what it was like to repeatedly check my email and the various online application systems, and my mailbox... for those of you who are still
