I don't have any advice for waitlisted candidates per se, but I will tell you that I was accepted to UChicago SSA with a Dean's Leadership Scholarship of $15k -- however, I am accepting a different offer seeing as there's no way I can swing the costs of UChicago. Fwiw, my stats are white cis female, 3.4 undergrad GPA, humanities and arts degrees from undergrad at a public state school, been working in youth development non-profits for the past 5 years. I emailed admissions because I also applied before the April 1st deadline. I was told that it would take about 3 weeks to review so by the end of April/ first week of May. Good luck!
