Fall 2019 PhD Interview Dates Summary

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone!! Congrats to everyone.

So I didn't see any summary post of all those different interview dates for this year(or did I miss?). I figured it would be nice for us to put down our known interview dates so that we can better plan for interview schedules.

I'll start with the interview I got:

Baylor College of Medicine Biomedical Science: Jan.17-20, 2019

UCSD Biological Sciences: January 31 - February 1, 2019 or  February 14 - 15, 2019

Thank you everyone!! Good Luck with the applications and the interviews!!!!

I have heard back from two:

UCSF (BMS) (Jan 24-27)

UCSD (BSGP) (Feb 21-24 no official email yet...)

Anyone have an opinion on if we will hear any more before the winter break shutdown?  Are first rounds already out?

There isn't really any winter break shutdown. I got an interview invite the day after Christmas. The only days likely to be quiet are Dec 24, 25 and maybe Dec 31, Jan 1.

Does anyone know the in-person dates for Caltech biology?

Also does doing a skype interview or an alternative day/weekend interview hurt chances of acceptance?

Does anyone know the on-site dates for Umich PIBS? I received a skype interview (they thought I was not in the US) and wanted to see whether I could ask for an on-site interview.

I got two other interviews now:

Baylor College of Medicine : 1/17-1/21

WUSTL(DBBS):  1/24-1/26, 2/7-2/9

University of Washington: Jan 27-29

UPitt: 01/31-02/03

WUSTL: 02/07-02/09

UChicago: 02/14- 02/16

Still hoping to hear back from UNC BBSP since I was invited to Preview Weekend and met with them at ABRCMS instead.

also waiting for CSU (invites will be sent out via Skype by Jan 14th and interviews in February) and possibly Boston University, but I think they sent out invites today.

No longer hopeful about Emory or Columbia

Duke sent out all MGM invites already.
