NYU PhD - is it a neuro/cancer school?

Absolutely not a neuro only school. There is an extensive neurobiology/neuroscience program, but by no means is that the majority. We have departments in Cell Biology, Developmental Biology, Immunology, Microbiology, Cancer, etc. The program is an open program as well, so if you start in cancer biology, you can switch to neuroscience, or systems biology, or immunology. It's very open and integrative.

Hi virusologii,

How is the NYU program across departments when the neuroscience department seems to have different requirements (i.e. GRE) in comparison to the rest of Sackler?  I've been really confused for some time now on the flexibility component of the NYU Biology program and would love some insider advice/info.  Thanks for your help :)
