Koenigsberg. It's just that I am very interested in psychiatric research, mostly in mood and personality disorders, and I find BPD and bipolar disorders most interesting. And he is an expert in neural basis for BPD, and I have not seen any other professor who would be doing this or any other program on PD research in neuroscience. So, I would really like to go in this direction in the future. Currently I am working with high trait anxiety, which is good to start with, but I would like to dig deeper. So cool! I wish you the best- I don't know a lot of people doing BPD research, but it seems like you'd be a good fit Just_Alice

Does anyone who got it could share the interview date? And will they send out more soon? I'm also curious about this. It looks like they usually send out all their invites within the same couple days, so I'm a little worried...

Confirm, committee is meeting on the 22nd. Not sure when the actual invites will go out though. Just_Alice
Neuromantic 131
Emory is starting to send invites- saw it on the results page. What's with everyone receiving phone calls? My phone doesn't always have service since I'm often on the subway and/or in the lab. Yikes...

Someone posted on the results board that they had 4 years of experience and 5 first author publications. Really makes you wonder... The program must have a really high bar for undergraduate GPA or something. I would love to be a fly on the wall when these decisions are being made.

Yeah...I am little disappointed but not too surprised since they said they recruited approximately one international applicant every year.

I do not really understand how people having 5 first-author publications (provided they are in normal journals) come not to have a PhD degree already😁 Neuromantic and OldFire Mamba

Neuromantic 131
Wisconsin-Mad is rejecting a lot of seemingly ideal candidates 😳
DdndCraft 1
Agreed. My CV is comparable with the posts on the bulletin, so toss me into that mix. I was also in touch with multiple faculty who were enthusiastic about my application, so I'm a bit perplexed.
Neuromantic 131
That's awful, I'm sorry 😢 I don't know what's going on. It's so bizarre, especially since you spoke to multiple faculty. DdndCraft
j118 15
Looks like Harvard just sent out invites. Not sure if they are all sent out at once in a mass email but I didn't get any :(. I guess I can assume I got rejected? I spoke to multiple faculty that were very impressed with my background and wanted me onboard though. One even scheduled a call to discuss what PhD projects he wanted me to do.
imnothere 22
I’m starting to think that maybe applying to 8 reach schools was a bad idea 😭😭😭. My gpa is ~3.5, I did two years of research in undergrad, and I’ve been a lab manager for two years at an R1. I have one poster presentation, one middle-author publication, strong LORs, and a decent SOP (I believe), so I’m thinking my gpa might be holding me back. I haven’t heard back at all yet, though and it’s driving me nuts!
