First, I must say that this is such a kind, supportive group and it is certainly a relief to know that others also refresh their email as much as I do! I'm currently applying for my MA in English (after an unsuccessful attempt at a Phd application 7 years ago after graduating college) and waiting to hear back from NYU & Columbia. Has anyone heard from Columbia or NYU, or have any insight? (I just heard back from Stony Brook, which is exciting, but very anxious about the other two!) The past results from the result board indicate this: same with Columbia, if the program you are applying for is MA. It could even go as late as April. I got an email late last night from the DGS. I was drunk when I got it so I deleted it by mistake lol #thirstythursday. I applied previously and was waitlisted, and the professors and admissions folks were honestly just lovely to speak to throughout. It struck me as a very supportive place. I talked to a Prof a few months back and was told they were only taking 5 candidates. Yeah it's been intriguing since a few WLs and Acceptances have been posted, but if the program didn't reject me outright when I emailed them about the timeline, I'm assuming I may have a small chance? To make things even worse, when I realized it wasn't appropriate I sent an apology and now I'm like "oh great, I just compounded the issue, giving this person more stupid emails to wade through when they're probably already super busy." Pls kill me.
