Today I accepted an offer of admission from the University of Michigan. I'm so relieved to have the application/interview process behind me and excited to start in the fall.

My final statuses:

  • NCSU Bioinformatics - accepted
  • U of Kentucky IBS - accepted
  • U of Michigan PIBS - accepted (matriculating)
  • Duke CBB - rejected
  • Stanford BI - rejected
  • UNC BSB - rejected
  • UW Seattle Genome Sciences - rejected
  • WashU CSB - rejected
  • Harvard BIG - still haven't heard, but almost definitely rejected

I aimed high, but I don't regret applying to all those schools I was rejected from. """You miss 100% of the shots you don't take" - Wayne Gretzky" - Michael Scott." - not_really_cool

hey, congratulations! see you in the fall :D

Has anyone heard from any of the following programs (bioinformatics)?

Boston University

University of Minnesota Rochester

IUPUI

University of Colorado (computational bioscience)

I interviewed at BU Bioinformatics PhD

they certainly sent their first batch of acceptance last week, and they run an internal wait-list as to fill the spots

Nobody that I know has heard from Colorado yet. It's weird. Maybe they just don't interview at all? (I know only a couple of others who applied though, so small sample.)

I actually got admitted into IUPUI for Ms Bioinformatics last March with some scholarships awarded. Though, I won't be attending.

Will be going to Loyola
