Hi all, My wife just got admission and fellowship offers from Econ PhD program UC Riverside for the Fall 2016 quarter. Since our baby is only 3 months old and I cannot stay in Riverside to take care of them daily, my wife is thinking of deferring the admission to next year (Fall 2017). Does anyone know about deferral policies for graduate progreams at UC Riverside? I couldn't find any info from their website. I appreciate any comments or advice. Thanks!

Hi everyone, I am going to apply to PhD in Economics this Fall. Since I want to live in Santa Barbara (CA), I am looking for some universities which have Econ. PhD program nearby Santa Barbara. Of course I will apply to UC Santa Barbara, but I m not so confident about my probability to get admitted, I need to find other lower ranking Econ. schools. Please give me some advice.
