  1. I just wanted to contribute to the struggle. I'm on the wait list for a great program with an offer from another school. I just got the official funding offer, so I'm trying to figure out what to do. I talked to a graduate student and I was told to give it some time. I have to give an answer by April 15 to the other program. Any ideas?
  2. Sorry, I don't get on here often. In my opinion, I think George Mason just has a good name (maybe because I wanted to get into their PhD program but ultimately decided it was too far of a reach). I haven't really done a lot of research on UNC Charlotte as my route was always to apply to PhD programs (even though I applied to 2 masters as 100% safety). I think based on the little research I did that UNC Charlotte tends to be a much more a "working" I/O program or people who were in business prior to pursuing a graduate degree. Other than my personal bias of George Mason, I think they are about the same program wise. Maybe make sure there's research fit for both programs and then just draw a straw? lol (don't really do that)
  3. I think that really depends on your ultimate career goals. You have to really look at your funding. Are you willing to go into debt for a Masters vs a PhD (assuming that it is at least some funding if not fully funded PhD). I was accepted into the Masters program at GW, but I will be denying because of the funding, unless I somehow win the lottery in the next 2 weeks
  4. I sent an e-mail to the student mentor just to inquire about the program. I'll let you know what I hear back
  5. I got this same letter regarding my acceptance into the PhD program. It says to reach out to the director for further questions. I haven't reached out yet because in the same letter it says the director will e-mail. I'm going to wait over the weekend and then reach out next week
  6. Well I can say that I got admitted into a program at Florida Institute of Technology! I got wait listed for Saint Louis University and moved to Masters for George Washington University. I don't know about funding with Florida. For those who received offers, did you get an e-mail with funding info or in a letting the mail, etc?
  7. I've looked into a couple of these programs. i'll look into some of the others. i know PhD programs are very competitive. If you get good GRE scores, then I think you will have a good application, but I would have some MS programs on the back burner to be honest. From what I can tell, the average GPA is over a 3.6 with 150-160 GRE scores /e also good to note that you have a publication and some poster presentation experience - be sure to mention that in your SOP!
  8. I'm applying to PhD Programs in I/O psychology. I applied to Georgia Tech for entrance Fall 2015 and I didn't get in. I think I just didn't meet expectations. Something that I'm finding is a lot of programs require the Psych GRE (I didn't take this, and the next available GRE test isn't until April). It would be great to hear some thoughts on how to approach the school saying you are interested in pursuing study there. Programs "applying" to: George Washington University Clemson University George Mason University Auburn University University of Nebraska - Omaha Saint Louis University Florida Institute of Technology Not sure about these: Georgia Tech (should I reapply with no "real" improvements to my overall application besides SOP?) Illinois Institute of technology Stats: Major: Psychology, Minor: Sociology GPA; 3.84/4.0 Research: Perceptions of Potential Employees (Studying weight discrimination on prospective applicants) - 2 semesters of advanced research courses GRE: 155Q,150V,4.0 AW - (previous: 154Q, 150V, 3.0 AW) 3 years of professional experience (currently, will be at 4 when entry into program) - I do recruiting/marketing for a company I need to look into some more programs but deadlines are approaching - any thoughts on some good PhD programs that would fit in my stats?
