As history tells us, in police departments or any other government investigation agencies, the employees are not allowed to take cases which has any of their family members being sued or being the victim of the criminal case/civil case which took place. This is primarly because the superiors think that when these employees start investigating the cases mentioned above, they tend to bring emotional aspects into the picture making them to have a different level of perspective tending them to take actions on emotional basis rather than logical basis. THis does create irregularity in the court of law and there is clearly a bias, hence this activity is strongly discouraged. Our feelings should not affect the way we think. Maybe in some cases, we are forced to.
