There are various types of special effects, each with a particular role in the movie or movie. Some of the techniques used to create unique realities include prosthetic make-up, miniature effect, motion control photography and in-camera. The special effects are a result of the emerging innovation in the creative industry (Simon, Jean Paul et al., 97). These tricks and illusions are created by computer graphics, props, camera work among other techniques digital techniques. Many films have successfully managed to use special effects, which have effectively played certain roles. Released in Poland on March 3, 2017, “The Shack,” is an excellent drama and fantasy film full of special effects. The skillfully organized storyline is supported by special effects in various plot points. As Mack, the main character, walks through the forest covered in snow, the surroundings changes slowly to a forest in full glare of spring season. The special effects are used successfully to create a transition from the harsh winter on earth to the magnificent heavenly environment. Similarly, special effects are creative to show the scene where Mack is shown her youngest daughter playing with other children in heaven. As her daughter moves away into the garden, the screen behind her turns into raindrops making her fade away. Another beautiful moment created by special effects is the scene where Mack and Jesus run on water. The scene is perfectly created such that the two appears to be running on water. Looking at these three moments in “The Shack,” film, it is evident how special effects are used to enhance the reality of scenes.
