btien
Hi guys, first post on thegradcafe. I'm applying to MS programs in ChemE and these are my stats: GPA: 3.52 at Princeton University GRE: 170 (Q), 166 (V), 5 (A) Research experience: did an REU last summer and worked at a nonprofit doing lots of lab research this summer. Will also be doing a senior thesis involving a lot of lab work. Schools I'm looking at now: UC Davis Stanford UC Berkeley Cornell UCSD Caltech MIT Does my school list look realistic? Any other schools I should consider?
Edge
US News just released the 2015 list of best grade schools, ChemE is below. http://grad-schools.usnews.rankingsandreviews.com/best-graduate-schools/top-engineering-schools/chemical-engineering-rankings Your schools seem realistic. I had slightly worse stats (but more experience) and basically applied to the top 10 that had my program, which turned out to be 6, I got into 3. I think you'll be fine. arnohov
Hello, first post also. Applying to master programs in ChemE, 3.58 gpa but I'm a chem major at CUNY Hunter. Lab experience at Columbia University for last 1.5 years. GRE: Q:163 Applying to UCLA, UPenn, Delaware, Georgia Tech, Columbia, Purdue, JohnsHopkins, WashU How realistic are these schools? seems like avg incoming gpa is about 3.4-3.5 but I think that my undergrad school/major may hinder me. I think I have pretty strong LORs and statement though.
