Chance for Lowish GPA to enter ME grad school

Hi guys. A little about me, I am from Purdue (no gpa inflation:blink:), have dual degree in EE and ME. But, with all the work load going, my GPA is in the 2.8 range:wacko:. I know it is rather low for grad school. I have an OK GRE (323) and planning to go to ME grad school for mechantronics or robotics. So the question is: what is my chance to remain in Purdue? Or, which other schools is reaching, OK, and safe for me? Also, is there anything I can do to improve my situation? All advice welcome, Thanks for your time!:)

Well it depends on your other application factors. Do you have research experience? Work related experience? Upward trend in grades? Also is this for a masters or PHD?
For Purdue, it would probably be better if you ask your professors there in person, since they would give you the best honest answers for your application there.
