  1. Congratulations. Great to hear you are going to your desired place. I am still waiting for Columbia. Cambridge decision is depending on the Gates Cambridge interview. But since I live in NYC, Columbia would have a heavy preference from me.
  2. Well, thanks for the information. I am a bit confused what to do now. Should I email them or just keep waiting? Btw, congrats on your Mt Sinai decision. I am sure you will love it. All the best.
  3. Did you get your decision yet from Columbia? I am still waiting. And I don't think there would be any bias towards any institution when it comes to publication.
  4. Sorry to hear about that. In my case, 2 months post-interview and still waiting. Sent an email to the coordinator a month ago. No response. Then on another thread on gradcafe, came to know that successful applicants (those who have already got offers) are to notify their decision by March 15. So maybe the best case scenario is that I'm on the waiting list and might get a call after the offer rejections by others. But I know what's coming.
  5. Congratulations to the successful applicants btw. I hope you all made/ will make the right decision and excel in your research and career. All the best.
  6. Is anyone here still waiting to hear a final yes/ no from Columbia Medical Integrated Program? Through this thread, I came to learn that people who have already been offered a place have to notify their decision by March 15. Since I didn't hear back yet, the safest assumption that I can make is that I have been waitlisted. But honestly I am kind of giving up. It's just been way too long.
  7. That's great news. Congratulations for your success and I hope good news will keep coming. Columbia is my first preference. since I am willing to stay here in NY and I am quite familiar with Columbia because of my master's. I also have a PhD offer from Cambridge, but funding in UK is always an issue. I have the Gates-Cambridge scholarship interview next month and that can settle the problem.
  8. Congratulations. We might have met during the interview weekend. Best of luck for the decision period.
  9. Fingers crossed. Remember the stats they showed us? Last year they offered position to some 152 applicants and 57 out of them enrolled. So there is a chance that we are in the waiting list, although I am too afraid to be even this optimistic. Let's hope for the best. And hearing about the third interview session is a relief. Was Columbia your first preference?
  10. Thanks for the info. It's a bit comforting to know they might still be scrutinizing the applications and interviewees.
  11. Hi nutellarain, thanks for the UCLA info. I applied to UCLA Molecular Biology IDP Phd Program and haven't heard back from them yet. I called their office mid-February asking about the status. They just told me they are still reviewing the application. I guess they can't directly say "no" to someone right away, although it'd be the best thing to do.
  12. Thanks berba9. That's comforting to hear. However, there was another interview weekend on Jan 28 or 29. So, during our introductory period on the morning of Jan 16, we were told that decisions are made about two weeks from the last interview weekend. Also, I was following Columbia's 2015 enrollment on the gradcafe page. There I saw a few guys getting accepted/rejected even before the second int. weekend. I also saw some getting their acceptance on Feb 23. But the overall numbers seen on the gradcafe sheet is only a few.
  13. Hello all, I am kinda new here. So I applied at Columbia Medical Center's Integrated PhD program (Fall 15). I was invited to interview on January 16. We were supposed to get the decisions by the forth week after interview. However, I am still waiting for my result. My interviews went well and I am a recent Columbia master's degree graduate, which kinda made me optimistic about it. But I am really nervous now and didn't get any response from the program coordinator after I had sent an email. Any idea/ suggestion/ shared experience?
