  1. its not my homework, its a revision question which I do not understand. Ihave read the text multiple times and am simply stuck. My answer to the second question would be: that it is not possible to represent race discursively without locating it in a social context and we cannot transform social stuctures without engaging in racial signification. because racial awareness is pervasive in our society and everything is racially coded so we continue to acknowledge race and treat people differently dependent on their race. even noticing race is a micro racial project that is dependent on preconceived notions of a racialised social strucutre. we cannot simply stop noticing race and thus racial projects continue to reproduce social inequality. However I am unsure if this is right and wanted other peoples opinions on how they would answer it.
  2. I have two questions to the theory of racial formation by Omi and Winant and to racial projects. Firstly, to what extent is the construction of race part of the social structure, according to theory of racial formation? And how do racial projects contribute to the reproduction of social inequality? I would be really grateful for any help.
