Hello, I'm currently in the process of applying to soc PhD programs, but I'm unsure about whether or not I should apply to sociology-demography programs as well. I am extremely interested in demography and know that I want to study it, but my issue is my GRE scores (I get VERY bad test anxiety, so trying to avoid retaking it). Is it easier to only apply to sociology PhD programs right now and then apply to the joint demography program later, or to apply to both at the same time? What do you think my chances are of getting in (sociology OR sociology-demography) with my quantitative GRE score? My stats: -GRE: v: 165, q: 155, aw: 5 -graduated from UCLA with a BA in sociology, GPA: 3.91 -several years of research experience while at school -should have at least 1 strong letter of rec, but not sure yet Also, I don't know anyone who has studied demography, so ANY input/honesty about joint sociology-demography PhD programs would be appreciated.
