  1. Congrats on your acceptances! Will you get a chance to visit any of the schools before making your decision?
  2. I applied for a Scholars program and haven't heard back. I'm figuring no news is bad news.... I was mostly excited about the training opportunities associated with the program. The scholarship would have helped, too!
  3. Congrats on making it up the waitlist! That, in and of itself, is a huge accomplishment! Would there be opportunities to work with your POI at the masters level, or would the EdM be a more general program? That is one factor to consider. Also, consider what type of jobs would be available to you as a counselor versus as a social worker. I, too, applied to Counseling and to Social Work programs, and I am in the midst of making up my mind! My decision will depend heavily on which research opportunities are offered to me at the different programs.
  4. Are there any differences in the curriculum for you to consider? Are there any opportunities, such as an additional certification, that would be offered to you at one school, but not at the other school? Also, I agree with MJL34-- it's a great idea to consider where you will be looking for post-MSW employment, and factor that in to your decision-making process.
  5. I don't believe decisions have been made yet for some of the positions that I applied for.
  6. @MissyTee and @ceapa421: Have fun at the Open House! I think I am going to attend the in-person open house in April. I would also like to sit in on a class and meet current students. I have never been to Philly so I am eager to explore the city! @ceapa421: Feel free to PM me regarding my experiences sitting in on classes and chatting with current students at U Mich!
  7. I also addressed mine to the Admissions Committee rather than the PI. Another good thing about WUSTL is that there are tons of opportunities for MSW and MPH students to be involved in research outside of these fellowships-- so you can still make your research goals happen even if the fellowship goes to someone else. Congrats on your acceptance to Brown School at Washington University in St. Louis
  8. Good question! I am accepted at Penn. I'm waiting on a few other schools before I make the big decision. I was so happy to receive the Penn acceptance and it is definitely on my shortlist Have you visited or sat in on classes at either Mich or Penn? Have you talked to current students and alum from either school?
  9. I think the lesson for future applicants is to apply early to public schools with rolling admissions! I wish I had applied earlier in 2014. I, too, applied in the winter and did not have my app in before Dec 1st. I'm pessimistic and thinking that no news is bad news regarding my own application .
