  1. Question from an applicant for next year/2 years. Stats: 1. State School in Midwest, BS Industrial Eng. & MS Industrial & Systems Eng., undergrad 3.1 GPA, 4.0 grad GPA 2. Thesis, conference paper, and journal publication (maybe 2) topic of research is risk management currently 3. 153V,153Q, 5.5AW (took with flu and I know I could improve, had automatic acceptance to MS program already so I didn't stress) 4. Recommendations from thesis advisor, current manager of Aerospace/Defense company, school director of ISE 5. Full-time job (40+ hrs) after BS while working towards MS I currently work as a test engineer at an Aerospace/Defense contractor for the government. I am looking for PhD opportunities. Still haven't decided on academia/industry. What kind of schools should I be looking at? Yes, I am retaking the GRE. I can do 160+ on quant for sure, probably 165, 35 ACT in math and killed all my math courses. Just need to prepare. Thanks.
  2. As I previously stated, I took it with the flu and had acceptance already to the program, so I didn't try. But I do know I could score 160+ with a little effort. That was with no studying and the week after spring break ha. My research interests lie in engineering management, systems engineering, simulation/optimization, and more. I do not have a solid grasp on what I want to do. Still working on my thesis and am not graduating until May 2016. So, I have a little while. I just wanted to know if my low undergrad GPA was going to hold me back. I will have a 3.8+ graduate GPA, probably a 4.0, when I graduate with my MS. Schools of interest so far: MIT(duh, why not reach), G Tech, USC, Purdue, UMich, Columbia , and I will always have my safety state school that I currently attend Dartmouth phd in innovation (only a few selected for it though) I would like to get out of the Midwest for phd if possible.

Also considering online PhD to stay in industry. I know how most people will feel about that here. Still haven't decided on academia/industry. My company doesn't care if the PhD is online or not. What kind of schools should I be looking at (traditional schools)? Is there anything I should know about online schools? Thanks.
