  1. Has anyone received their funding?
  2. I thought that August was supposed to be the beginning of our fellowship -- not good. I haven't heard anything either.
  3. Does anyone know what happens next? Do we just wait . . . again? (Happy Summer!)
  4. Hi everyone, I am so thankful for this community -- thank you for being so collaborative and helpful with the posts. So, I heard back this regarding the start date of the fellowship and thought you all should know. Congratulations to everyone. "Traditionally the earliest start date that we’ve have students begin their fellowship is August 1st."
  5. Does anyone have information on the starting date of the award? Is it different for different awardees/schools? In the handbook it states: "The Project Period and the Budget Period indicate the start of the project and budget periods of your fellowship. Both periods have the same start and end dates for your Fellowship Agreement. For example, Jill Smith’s project period begins on September 14, 2008, and ends on September 14, 2010. This is an example based on a 2-year program. The Award Activation Notice determines the start date of the Project and Budget Periods." I am wondering how to interpret this.
  6. I'm EPA-F2013-STAR-B2: Air, Climate & Energy: Global Change (B2)
  7. Received the congratulatory email at 4:15 am. I am on the West Coast. Too bad I am graduating . . .
  8. This is all very interesting! Thanks for the tip about the blank submission entry. It would have gone un-submitted otherwise .
  9. The latest from Bronda. I guess she is no longer a contact: "The latest is that the wheels are turning far more slowly than I think anyone expected. With me not actually being a part of the process and you checking the Grad Café, you'll probably know before I know."
  10. I just wanted to shout out to my fellow 2013 STAR Fellow Orphans (2014 SFOs) -- thank you for staying on top of things while I forgot about the award. I could really use some more bananas.
  11. Hi Blue Gopher, I am the one who had the address change, and yes, I emailed her directly (see below for example) and she replied, "I've forwarded your change of address to the 3 people most likely to need it." And that was it. I didn't get a confirmation or anything. It is amazing to me that we still have no news! Obviously there are still a lot of us who never received a rejection and now are in EPA STAR limbo. And do things in government ever happen at the speed of light?! Warmly, Stanford Monkey _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Subject: Fwd: GRANTXXXXXXX Grants.gov Agency Tracking Number Assignment for Application Hi Bronda, I spoke with you on the phone regarding my application. Below are my application details. I informed you that I moved addresses (see below) and was wondering if I should have already received my application referee packet/award status. Thank you. Warmly, xxxx I recently moved addresses from: XXXXX to XXXXX
  12. So I am officially in the waiting pool and have not received a rejection yet. Maybe we should do a quick survey for all those of us out there who are still waiting (include your FON). Who else is waiting and has not received a rejection letter? B2 in California!
  13. Hi Marshymarsh, I asked that to, although this time via email. She replied in email: "As far as I know, the following standard language is still appropriate. Question: When are the 2013 Fellowships going to be announced? Response: At this time, we do not have an expected date for the 2013 Fellowship announcement. We will update you on this as more information is available." Yep. I keep reading it over and over...maybe there is a hidden code inside?
  14. Just spoke to Bronda Harrison at the EPA. She said, in not these exact words, that most of the definite rejections have already been sent out. There is still a remaining pool from which they will make decisions regarding awards. It was not clear if the remaining pool would all receive awards or not. If anyone is in my shoes (recently moved) you can contact the EPA via email and let them know. So I am waiting now to determine which group I am in. Best of luck to everyone. -B2
  15. I just moved in the middle of March and I am now fretting about my change of address. I emailed the EPA to change my address and heard back nothing . I am now in EPA-limbo. Definitely have not received THE call. I am a B2.
