Painfulcase

Applying to NELC PhD's this fall/winter. I'm interested in both pre-modern and modern Arabic literature. Also interested in Arabic pedagogy although this tends to fall under linguistics (at least that is what I heard most universities look for when hiring a lecturer for Arabic). I'm still in the process of studying for and taking my GRE, writing my statement of purpose, and revising a seminar paper to submit as my writing sample. I'm taking French this year but have yet to even consider German or a second Semitic language (Persian or Hebrew).
