No, my acceptance letter specifically said we are admitting you into the MA program, not the PhD program you applied for. I am flying down to Houston tomorrow. I've never been to TX, so this should be interesting...

Hey guys, I finally heard from UVA last Friday. Accepted into the MA program with no funding. Even though the program is great, I'm not sure that can beat Rice PhD with full funding and stipend.

As interesting as all of this info about the University of Chicago is (I didn't apply there ), I'm still waiting to hear from UCSB and UVA. I've seen results on the board for both lately. I'm waiting for funding information from Rice.

mconsul, I was one of the people who received a rejection from Columbia. Anyone heard from UCSB? Or UVA?

According to someone on the Results page, Rice sent out letters today (acceptances at least)! Afraid to go to the post office now.

Did you turn down an interview for Virginia's Religion or History department? Perhaps you haven't heard from them yet, but know you will have to - couldn't tell from your post. I am also waiting for Columbia and Virginia Religious Studies departments.

Indeed it is - the suffering bit. You're also right about the cold. It's about 20 degrees out, and just this morning I was thinking how much colder it must be in Michigan!

Actually, that's the line we used on almost everyone unless we had literally just mailed an acceptance letter to them. Everyone else got the - "You should hear in the next few weeks" no matter what the status - rejected, in committee, etc.
