  1. I would say that your "objectives for you academic program" could include specific professors you'd like to work with at that institution. Especially if you can include how your specific research would be relevant to working with Professor X or Y, I'd say that would be part of your objective, no?
  2. Forgot to mention, this specific app does not ask for a resume of any kind! No work history, no extra-curriculars, no volunteer experience, no CV. Should I include this info elsewhere so that I don't waste SoP space talking about it (though there is no word/page limit on this app)
  3. The prompt for one of my SoPs asks for the usual description of long term personal/professional goals, what this step in my education will do to help me achieve them, and why I'm considering the specific school. Then, just smacked on the end of the prompt, "Include in the statement a description of teaching, research or other work you have engaged in that will contribute to your qualifications for an assistantship or fellowship." I'm applying for Fashion Merchandising, have International Affairs BA and have experience in the retail world, though none as a supervisor/higher-up. I did not conduct any original research in undergrad, didn't publish anything, or work with a professor on any research projects. So, although I'm planning on talking about some community volunteer work, extra-curricular involvement and leadership, and my retail experience, I'm struggling to illustrate how these experiences help qualify me for an assistantship or fellowship. Also, trying not to be super long-winded in my explanation or repetitive about my experiences. Help, please!
  4. Thanks for the reassurance!
  5. Voted in CO as well
  6. So I'm applying to grad school in Colorado for Fall 2013 at CSU and am worried that I may have lost my in-state tuition eligibility! I currently am living in Michigan (since August 2012, likely through this upcoming July 2013), the only time I've lived outside of Colorado my entire life expect my 1 semester study abroad. I am registered to vote in CO, have a CO driver's license, my permanent address in there, and I graduated from University of Colorado as well. I do not have a signed lease here in MI either. However, I will pay MI income tax for part of 2012 and part of 2013. That is the one outstanding point I can see where they may be able to deny in state tuition. Has anyone had a similar experience or any insight? The Colorado laws are not entirely clear and basically it is up to judgement on an individual basis. Any help is super appreciated, thanks!
