Hey! Hopefully there are more people lurking on this site going to UTMB, I can't find anything.
I'm going into the Experimental Pathology PhD program.
Has anyone already figured out where they want to live?
Just got accepted pre-interview to the Experimental Pathology program at University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. My top choice, I am so excited!!!!
The Experimental Pathology program at University of Texas Medical Branch. They have a BSL-4 lab :3 And thank you!! Belated congratulations on getting accepted to UTSW!
Just got an email from the director of my top choice program wanting to know when I would be available to talk on the phone about my application and the graduate program. I think my heart is about to beat out of my chest!! Ahhhhh!!!!
Is anyone here applying to UTMB in Galveston? I got a call from an admissions committee member to talk about my application last Tuesday afternoon and I haven't heard anything since then. He said he wanted a bit more information about me than was on my application - this by no means was a formal interview. I got the impression that if the committee liked my application, I would get an in-person interview offer. Is that pretty much par for the course?
Haha, I had thought until a few weeks ago that my fiance would be getting a job in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, so I limited myself to schools around there. Maybe not the smartest decision ever, but so it goes. I don't mind Texas so much
I just talked to someone at the graduate school on the phone and she said they would most likely not be extending any more interview offers past the week of February 11th, but official rejections wouldn't come until April 15. Boo :C
Ahhhh!! I don't know if I can take another month of waiting. I had actually been debating whether or not to email the dean about my application, but now I have a timeline to work with. Did they say anything about rejections? Or do you think they'll wait until March 1st and send out a mass email to anyone who didn't get an interview spot?
I have not heard anything either since I was told I was on a "Hold" list on the 14th. I met one of the associate deans when she came as a guest lecturer to a class last semester and we've emailed back and forth a few times when I had questions about the application and whatnot. What she told me was that they needed to go through the entire applicant pool before extending people on the list interview offers. The final application deadline is Friday, so hopefully we'll be hearing from them soon!
