I am fascinated for MS in Civil Engineering concentrated on Construction Engineering and Management in Columbia University and have a dream of going to Columbia University every day. I notice that this particular MS program is a non-thesis MS program and can be accomplished in one year for full time student. I did not do any research during my undergrad. which I think that is a downside for me. However, considering this program is a non-research based MS Program. Would the panel of admission in Columbia University consider less about the research experiment when they judge an applicant. I am so worried for my application and hope someone can give me some advice. Below is my basic profile: GRE: 163(Q), 150 (V), 3 AW. I think I do have a relatively low verbal and AW score but it is hard for me to retake the test because I am working in a construction company in a full-time basis!! GPA: 3.64 /4 for my undergraduate in a top 100 US university 3.56 /4.3 for my master of science in civil engineering (Structure) in a top 100 world-wide university in UK. Actually, I was not majoring in Civil Engineering in my undergrad but have huge interest toward civil engineering. That's why I studies my Master degree in civil engineering (one year non-thesis master program) in UK. Working Experiment: Working in one of biggest construction companies in Hong Kong for four years. Work as a civil engineer which to prepare technical submission and carry out some design analysis. Project: I don't know if my MSc project is a factor that can be taken account of when considering my application. LOC: I think I can get two good letters of recommendation for my professor and research assistant, and one from my supervisor in my company. Please help me out!!
