So far, despite having applied to PhD programs, I have been offered two MA's (at great schools!). I'm not sure what to do-- reapply next year, or take one of these (very expensive) offers. I've been told by some that an MA will help me with PhD admissions, but I have been told by others that an MA can count against me with PhD admissions (and that they are not worth the debt).
Advice? Has anyone been in this situation before?
I haven't heard from ANY of the 8 schools I applied to. 4 sent out acceptances (so I guess I'll assume rejection?) and 4 haven't started notifying yet. I feel your frustration, Ions!
another acceptance went up...fff
well, on the bright side, they offer a weird amount of MA's to rejected phd students, so, there's that. BUT, hopefully it's a slow burn and they're just sending out their acceptances over a couple of days.
I'm actually really surprised they are notifying so early-- and BC is closed today and tomorrow because of the storm. I'm sure there will be more news soon...
Hey all, shouldn't we be hearing about Stanford interviews soon? All of the schools I applied to have been moving super slow, it's driving me nuts. Seriously, the most unproductive month of my life.
