  1. Yes, I have. The library in Vienna is Amazzzing as well. And I am so on edge. Any moment now. My heart is fluttering just THINKING about getting an email.
  2. There's a girl at my school who applied. I'm not positive she's a finalist, but I think she is.
  3. I'm hoping to study Eduard Hanslick, a 19th century music critic who was extremely influential to Viennese culture. And a part-time ETA, which is why Austrian fulbrights can be so excellent.
  4. I'd love to hear everyone's proposals. I mean, while we're waiting (possibly forever)
  5. I imagine it going off at the beginning of class and having a panic attack for an hour, unable to check it.
  6. Not really, it's for all Fulbright Hopefuls, ETA or Full or whatever else. We have a few outside-slightly-related-programs too, like Austria's USTA program. Basically, I would assume that if you're freaking out every second of every second, you're pretty much welcome to fret with us. On that note, I let lip to my boyfriend the other day that I had evidence that the Fulbright letter might come any day, and he got very concerned. He said that I can't be worrying about this all the time, because it's going to drive me insane. Um, Duh.
  7. Agreed! I love seeing such excited responses
  8. Has anyone been rejected? I can't remember if rejections come at the same time or later on.
  9. Oh no, it's starting again... it's going to sneak up like a thief in the night.
  10. What's strange is that I'm so desperate for news, but I'm also dreading it. 100% of me is impatient, 100% of me wants to never find out, never read that I've been rejected.
  11. Definitely. I didn't want to tell people I got it, I barely wanted to reveal to people here where I was applying.
  12. Aww, don't say that hahaha. Yeah, I'm just relying on the fact that Austria is usually one of the first. The good news is that people are active on this thread again!
  13. glad we are on the same page. I just wish I knew already...
  14. Actually, let me rephrase my response. I'll pick up knitting, you see a doctor about bladder control.
  15. Sorry for using hyperbole on the internet. Let me rephrase. "I don't like it." Yeesh.
  16. I don't post on here very often, but it's just so nice to remember that I'm not the only one dreaming about rejections and freaking out every second. I think everyone around me is tired of hearing about it, and a rejection will feel pretty terrible. On a different note, this idea about a (P) (ALT) or (NS) is making me so angry. I need ample time to prepare myself before I open the email. Are we 100% sure that the subject line will tell us the result?
  17. I don't know if this is really cleared up, but I do remember reading about this. I applied to Austria, but I'm also obsessed with Eastern Europe, so I noticed. Specifically, Eastern (and apparently part of central) Europe ETA allows you to choose up to 3 countries because the studies in those areas often are extremely intermingled, as well as the language skills required. I thought briefly about heading in that direction because it allows for a broader "eastern europe" application. A unique situation.
  18. New user here as well, and I too was recommended to Austria. I know there are 13 spots for study/ETA, so I'm assuming they sent around 20?
