This is an incredibly addictive way to kill the time (for some reason, more so than the original version)... http://mitchellgu.github.io/GetMIT/

I haven't received any email yet... anyone else in the same boat? Any idea what that might mean in terms of their decision process?
-
There is still one main school I have yet to hear back from... any thoughts on emailing a professor at the school there? I should have done this much earlier, so I am wondering if it's too late now and decisions are just about made. And even if I'd done this earlier, who knows how much it would actually help, but it couldn't have hurt to try could it?

Good luck! Out of curiosity, what did you put in your emails? I am considering emailing some schools at this point (that have not already sent out rejections) but am wondering how much they would look into this.
-
Wow so if they don't send it out this week, they are seriously running behind (2 weeks after what they said?).

Not too much data from years past about Harvard SEAS, anyone have an idea of how the admits for that works (spread out, all at once, etc.) or when the visit day is?
-
Haha fair enough. They may be waiting for a response from those who they have already emailed, in which case it might be a while before hearing back. Not yet, though I see that some people have posted acceptances on there. Good luck everyone! I would consider calling some of these places, but after receiving the Stanford acceptance I no longer mind waiting anymore.

If you really want to know that badly, why don't you just give them a call? That will probably answer all your questions.
-
Do you think calling the admissions office might help (to see if all acceptances have already been sent out)? They did say to call about any inquiries. Either way, it seems like we are supposed to hear a response by the end of this week then (assuming they will stick to what they said in the email).

Does anyone know if MIT has sent out all their acceptances as well?
-
Cornell sent out acceptances today, but I think most of the top schools haven't yet.
-
What are you planning to write in the email? Best of luck!
-
I see, thank you for the info! Hopefully most will be sent by this week... ?

Looks like people have already started hearing back from UC Berkeley... that is pretty quick response.

Hey all, I'm an undergrad at a decent public school (probably a top 10 public school, but higher when it comes to engineering/science). I'm a chemistry major with a physics minor, and I plan to apply to grad schools in materials science & engineering (one reason I'm taking lots of physics/math is to strengthen my background for that). I will have at least 2 publications by the time I apply to graduate school (one 2nd author, one 1st author and possibly a 3rd author) and solid letters of recommendation from professors I did research with (during the school year + summer REUs), as well as good GRE scores. My biggest worry is my GPA. I will have a 3.6-3.7 GPA when applying to grad schools, which I've heard is on the low end for the top schools (Berkeley, Stanford, UCSB, Cornell, MIT, Northwestern) that I would really like to go to. Do I still have a shot at the top schools or should I also include some sort of safety school? Thanks!
