Well after all this I was rejected at 10:00 this morning via email. I am extremely upset, especially considering the only other program I applied to is the Ottawa MDG and people have already been accepted...I guess I'll find another route for what I want to do. I'm a little insulted I wasn't waitlisted good luck to everyone still waiting and to everyone heading to NPSIA in September! Thanks for all your help.

So basically they're still in the first round, taking a look at a few last people. By the end of the week, we will be told whether we are accepted, rejected, or waitlisted. Based on that decision, the waitlisted people will then be considered for a possible second round if space remains. Does that make sense with what you guys were told??

Hey guys! After weeks of being "review in progress by department" my status just changed to "recommended for assessment"- probably happened sometime between 3pm and now!!!! Very happy to finally see a change, whether for good or bad at this point haha.

Glad I'm not the only one. I'll let you know when I hear something!

Thanks! I spoke too soon...in case anyone else is still waiting to hear something, Tabbatha just wrote back and said I'd have a final decision on my application by the end of the month. Maybe there's still hope...

I emailed one of the assistants two days ago and have yet to receive a response. Is it safe to assume I am being considered for the next round? Any idea when that is?

Thanks! I know someone who's status was recommended for assessment and then he was rejected so I guess that's what was confusing me (as well as "review in progress" being listed after this step on the MSW page) but hopefully mine will change. It would be nice to have some kind of update!

Hmmm that's strange because I haven't received an email and mine has been review in progress for weeks like I said. Anyone have any idea why this would happen? Congrats on your unofficial acceptance!

@kdav: not necessarily! My status has said "review in progress by department" for at least two weeks now (I think three!) and I haven't received any emails as of yet. I hope it works that way for you though

@kdav: Probably the latter haha. ansaria5, Sorry if explained my situation in a confusing way. My status has actually never (to my knowledge) said "recommended for assessment", it has only said "review in progress", but I didn't start checking religiously until last week or the week before

Hi everyone! I applied to NPSIA as well (the MA program). Regarding clusters, I chose Political Economy and Dimensions of Development (embarrassingly, I can't seem to remember the third...) I noticed early last week sometime that my status said "review in progress by department", but I never saw that it was "recommended for assessment" before this. Anyone else in the same boat? I've seen a few things written around these forums regarding the "review in progress" status, but I don't know if anyone else has confirmed it themselves. Makes me nervous... Hopefully we all hear soon. I have made myself sick from worrying...
