Hi Folks. Let's start a thread to aggregate our questions to ask at an Open Houses and visit days. I always ask professors and students the following questions: What do you like most about the program/department? (Or for professor, What do you think is the program's greatest strength?) What do you like least about the program/department? ( similarly, what's the program's biggest weakness?) What do you hear OTHER people complain about or praise? Do you have a list of recent placements? What is the climate like in the department? What questions have you asked? What questions were the most fruitful? What questions do you ask individual faculty, the DGS, or grad students? Thanks!

Does that mean they're out at midnight? Noon? 10:00a.m.? Anybody know?

To the UW Madison admit who posted that they got an email from a prof, was it a POI or the DGS?

When people post things like this, would they mind saying why they're saying this and how they know? It seems these kinds of posts are simply rife with mere speculation or estimates based on previous years dates. Shit is stressin' me out.

Anybody know when we might expect to hear from Wisconsin?

Would love details on the U-Mich acceptances. Was it a personalized email or a mass email? Anybody know?

And this was posted in the results forum by a current UW-Madison student. Dying of terror/excitement, "(current student here) Based on the notification date of past years, acceptances should go out this afternoon or evening. No promises, just a prediction!"

Love this from the results page. More of this, please. From somebody at Michigan: "I'm a current student--wanted to let it slip that the adcoms final meeting is this Friday (Feb. 1), and decisions should come out Monday. Good luck!"
