Does anyone have any idea why it takes so long for programs to inform a person of their failure? Clearly, several programs are admitting students right now, and I'm just wondering why those programs aren't as quick to let people know they have no shot. For instance, NYU; I imagine they've already called everyone they're going to call, but if the past two years are any indication, they won't send out "we hate you" emails until March. Seriously, does anyone know why they make people wait that long?
