  1. I have the same concern as you to a lesser degree.....accepted to Purdue, USC (Astronautical), and Virginia Tech. Applied to masters program for Virginia Tech and they accepted me into PhD program with 5 years funding. However, I know Purdue is held in higher regard in the industry but they haven't talked funding yet. Still don't know what to do yet. For your situation, I would tough it out with Stanford even if you go into debt because with a PhD there you will have no problem getting a job or professorship anywhere. You may be better of financially going to Minnesota or a lower ranked school that's better funding you, but you don't want to spend the next 2-5 years wondering what could have been if you went to Stanford.
  2. You're in! I had that message last week and yesterday I received an official letter from the graduate school. The graduate school only approves the final decision to make sure that the departments are not admitting students with less than 3.0's or rejecting students with > 3.8's. In that case the gradaute school would investigate.

    GEM Fellowship

I clicked on Purdue University in the "planning to attend" section. I've been matched with an employer since I applied for the fellowship. Still waiting for an email (hopefully from Aerospace Corp). We'll see what happens if I don't get a fellowship at least Purdue has their own in school fellowships for diversity applicants. Good luck everyone!
  4. Hello Kennedy Meiji, I got into Purdue as well. Well at least I have been recommended by the program still waiting for Graduate School approval. I should get it though because my GPA is above the minimum required. Hopefully I get some funding!
