Nothing's normal in this process, it seems Could be that you're being considered for a freestanding MA program (like MAPSS or Columbia's MA)...but then again, I wouldn't rule anything out!

Hey RandomDood, I'll claim that one. A complete shock -- a POI emailed me a couple hours ago with his congratulations, even though I hadn't received anything official. I called the dep't to confirm and was told that faculty had been assigned to reach out to each of the admits. Sounds like they are all doing so at different times since the first one went up over 10 days ago. Shortly after, I got an automated email with a link to the decision letter. (Also, it's possible that people who applied for FLAS awards are hearing later -- PM me if you want to speculate with me about that Sending you good thoughts.

Hey guys -- first post here -- just got an automated email from Columbia to check my admissions decision on the website and found out I'm waitlisted: "Thank you for applying to the Ph.D. program in Sociology. We are unable to offer you admission at this time; however, the Committee on Admissions has recommended that we place your name, along with a few others, on a short wait list." Anyone else get news from them? Good luck to everyone!
