The DGS emailed me last night and said that we should be getting our official letters in the mail in the next few weeks and that the letters online would be very generic. So I am assuming those official letters will outline the offers.

I only heard about the GTAship. They are still trying to decide how much the stipend will be.
So, have they told you whether you got one? I have not been told yet. I emailed her today. Maybe they haven't informed most people yet. Are you PHD or MA?

I have an MA. I haven't talked to the DGS yet. And still haven't received the official letter. How are the funding prospects looking at KU, if you don't mind my asking?

Can anybody tell me what the hell the following means? I sent an email ( as everybody advises not to do.....) asking if decisions had been made re admissions, and received this in response....I assume it is CUNY telling me not to bug them during decision-making, right?
I am writing to let you know that you are a finalist for admission to the Ph.D. Program in English at The Graduate Center of the City University of New York (CUNY). We hope shortly to give you news about admissions and financial aid decisions for the coming year, although these decisions continue to be made through April 15th. I received the same email. So, it wasn't in response to your inquiries. I believe it means we are still in the running. . . i.e.., wait-listed. I don't know how I feel about flying to an open house without having been admitted, though.

Hey I have a question . . . I was accepted to KU via an unofficial letter from the DGS. It mentioned nothing about funding. And I am still waiting on the official letter. Would it be too forward to email the DGS back (she said to email her with my phone number and we could talk if I have questions) and ask her about funding? And if I do email her, what would be the best way to phrase such a question? I just want to make sure I have proper "etiquette"

Hey All -- I noticed that someone was accepted to KU with GTA and fellowship nomination. First off, Congrats! Second, did that initial email include that information? Have any of you other KU people been offered funding?

I can claim a phd acceptance. Really excited, as it is the first I have heard from any schools. I received an email from the DGS around 5. She mentioned nothing about funding. I wonder if that info will come with the official notification? thoughts?

Excellent! Have you received an itinerary or anything? I wonder how many people make up the first year cohort? Do you have an idea? I'm really excited about this school.
