  1. @majajani: interview for columbia was done last week...
  2. Hello guys, I am relatively new to the graduate school admissions process and so this may seem like a relatively naive topic. But I'm really curious as to how many people have heard about people getting rejected after interview with POIs? I just went to Columbia's interview for PhD in BME, so I'm actually really wondering if you have ever heard people getting rejected from Columbia post-interview for BME? But any story/comment for other school is much appreciated!
  3. I think if there's no news till now, just assume the worst... Sorry!

  12. Hey I just called up Penn BME graduate office and they said that basically if you haven't heard anything up to this point, it is very unlikely that you'll get admitted

  17. Hi, I was just wondering about something that happened regarding my graduate application process. As I was applying to schools for a PhD in engineering last year, I contacted several professors. A few days later, I received an email for an informal interview from one postdoc that worked in the lab and he seemed to be interested in figuring out if I could fit in with the rest of the lab. I was very enthusiastic and familiar with several projects being done in the lab. The interviewer even told me to keep him updated with everything, asked me where I was with the application, and discussed the potential to work in the lab as early as the summer. However, I never heard back from this person ever again. What do you think happened? Should I just cross the school out of my list (assuming a rejection)? Thanks a lot guys...
  18. Hey guys, anyone heard anything from Cornell BME? I called them earlier today and they said that they will announce the decision somewhat later this year, maybe in a few weeks through email. But I wonder if Cornell is just sending out invites in waves or something?
  19. Yeah I just got the interview invite yesterday morning, but this is my first one anyway so I have no idea how it is gonna be like.. It seems like Stats: B.S. in BME (expected - 2013) Large private research university GPA: 3.9 GRE: 168 (Q), 168 (V), and 4 (A) ~3 years of various research experiences 1 publication 1 abstract + presentation for a national conference
  20. @R380 @Dicer87 Thanks for the info! Do you happen to know anything about the Columbia interview or what is admission rate after interview?
  21. Hey guys, Do you know if schools like Duke, Penn, Harvard, Cornell, and JHU have released their decision or interview invitation yet?
