  1. Thanks mystique! And thank you for the link, I am hopeless when it comes to navigating this site!
  2. Yay, my official acceptance letter from Montclair came today! So happy that it's really official now and it wasn't a mistake It was a one page letter. They said I have until April 19th to decide, sign and return the letter, and put down a $200 deposit. The letter didn't say anything about an accepted students day; I wish they were having one so I can meet some of my future classmates. Since Temple doesn't look like they're accepting anyone else, I'm 99% sure I will be attending Montclair in the fall! The one positive thing about that is it's making my decision very easy. They also said that they will accept my Utah State courses so it looks like I only need to take 2 or 3 more classes this summer to be caught up with all of the prereqs! I believe I told someone that Montclair gives out 5 grad assistantships each year, but I think I was wrong. I believe they only give 2 away and we won't find out until the summer if we got one. Either way, I will be paying in-state tuition which will be a much more affordable option for me compared to Syracuse. I will be notifying Syracuse that I'm turning down their offer so hopefully this will help someone on the waitlist. Looks like I should notify the schools where I was waitlisted to take me off the waitlist. Phew, looks like this crazy admissions process is finally drawing to a close for me!
  3. Thanks for the info! It would be nice if they could have just told us we were waitlisted instead of keeping us in limbo. There are a lot of things I love about Temple and a few things that make me scratch my head.
  4. Oh and to those accepted to Montclair, ald36 and I created a Facebook group if you'd like to join! http://www.facebook.com/groups/130556483797805/?fref=ts
  5. I wish I knew! I heard that they release acceptances in waves but I haven't seen any other acceptances since late February. I'm in the same boat as you. It would come down between Montclair and Temple (if I got in) for me and I haven't heard a peep. Others have received rejections so I guess it's a good sign we haven't been rejected yet. It would just be nice to know what's going on with them.
  6. Just got accepted to Montclair! One of my top choices! Started to panic this morning when I saw my portal changed to decision made around 7:30 and thought it was a waitlist or rejection when I didn't have an email. Then around noon I got an email saying I was accepted! I called my mom screaming! Yaaay!!
  7. I am way late, but congratulations jmarti on your acceptances! I know everyone here was rooting for you!!!
  8. Hmm, that's really interesting, thanks so much! I wonder what it would be like to be the first class of the program. I guess I can't help but be a little hesitant about new programs that are under accreditation review like Stockton and Monmouth, but I think it's a great thing that NJ speech grad programs are growing. We definitely need more! TCNJ and Rutgers used to offer it, but no longer do. I wish they would bring their programs back because of popular demand!
  9. I see you applied to Monmouth? I didn't realize they had a speech pathology program. I just looked it up and it says they're in the process of accreditation. Just out of curiosity, do you know anything else about the program?
  10. Haven't visited Syracuse yet. I went to college in Rochester so I am accustomed to the cold winters. I always passed through Syracuse on my way to Rochester from NJ, so I am somewhat familiar with the area at least. I have a few friends who have/are attending Syracuse's other graduate programs so hopefully they can give me some advice about the school. They're having an open house April 5th for accepted students and I'm contemplating attending, but I'm really hoping I get into a more local school. They need a confirmation if you're accepting their offer by April 15th and a $450 deposit by April 22nd. It's so frustrating because I may not have back from Montclair by April 15th! NJ/NY schools have to get their butt in gear!
  11. You're tellin' me!! Montclair's application deadline was March 1st. MARCH 1st!!! Isn't that ridiculously late? This is one of my top choices and I won't hear a peep until at least mid April. So frustrating!
  12. I am taking 2 online prereqs at Utah State University. I was originally planning on taking prereqs at La Salle's online program but learned about USU on this forum. They are only $260 per credit compared to La Salle's $750 per credit. I'm taking phonetics and anatomy and physiology of speech. I was a little hesitant about taking online classes because I never had before, but my experience has been great. For my anatomy class, there are 6 exams and you need to find a proctor. The professors post all of the lectures online so you can listen, pause, rewind, and take really thorough notes. My phonetics class doesn't require a proctor, but there are open book tests, quizzes, case studies, and you have to turn in transcription assignments. Hope this helps!
  13. In the past, Temple has done three waves of acceptances from what I've seen on the results search. I think a second wave should be coming soon (I hope!).
  14. I saw this on the results page about Syracuse and thought it was very odd: Can't believe I applied. Cousin went there and heard it is a terrible program and worst experience ever. Can not believe this school is rated so high. Terrible scholarship program also. Will not accept!! Does this seem really fishy to anyone else? Why did this person apply there if they heard it was so terrible?!
  15. Just wondering if there are any other Syracuse "acceptees" here...? Anyone thinking about attending the open house on April 5th? Any info that can you can share about the program would be much appreciated!!
  16. Hi Tatial, I just got my notification from Boulder 2 days ago that I was rejected. My last name begins with A so maybe that has something to so with it? Not sure how they prioritize their list but I know there are a ton of applicants so I'm hoping good things for you. I didn't realize how competitive of a program Boulder was until I started reading this thread, so I guess I can't beat myself up too much about a rejection! I have 3 more schools to hear from and of course they are the local schools that I am dying to hear from the most...aaah!
  17. Hi everyone! New to the forum but just got accepted to Syracuse University and am so excited! It's my first acceptance. Hoping and praying for more good news. I got waitlisted at the University of Maryland and James Madison so it feels good to know I'm in somewhere. Waiting to hear from Temple, Northeastern, Seton Hall, Boulder, and Montclair. Sending out good vibes to everyone else, this is such a nerve wracking process!
