  1. Thanks! I was told it counted towards the total number of hours that I can have under waiver, but not for my plan of study. That tells me I'm fine
  2. So I have a performance plan. On it is obviously "Get a B in coursework". Further down under "To help you achieve these goals" it says to register in a Technical Writing course which is an undergraduate 3000 level course. However, I messed something up (and my advisory committee knows this) and I am likely to get a C in that class. I found this "A graduate student may register for undergraduate courses (1000-4000-level). For students enrolled in Graduate School, grades earned in undergraduate courses will not be used in calculation of the GPA for either retention or graduation, but will appear on the graduate transcript. This policy took effect with the posting of grades fall 1998. For courses taken before fall 1998, grades earned in undergraduate courses may be used in calculation of the GPA for retention, but not for graduation. A graduate student may elect any course to be graded under the Satisfactory (S)-Unsatisfactory (U) option, if the major professor so recommends. Students are not allowed to select this option after the 15th class day. Courses listed on the Plan of Study must be graded A, B, C, D or F except for those designated as S/U. Similarly a graduate student may elect to audit any course not on the Plan of Study. The student may not change from audit to credit after classes begin, but may change from credit to audit before the 15th class day. All uses of the S/U and audit option require approval of the Graduate School." This tells me that I should be in the clear. However it says it is "GR" under what level it is on my transcript. This also tells me that they can not use this course against me. FTR my GPA now is 3.5
  3. I found this so I think I'm good . "Only grades in Auburn University courses approved for graduate credit will be used in determining the overall GPA for continuation in the Graduate School. If at the end of any semester the cumulative graduate GPA (CGGPA) falls below 3.0, the student will be placed on academic probation. If the CGGPA remains below 3.0 after the next nine credit hours of graduate enrollment (both graded and ungraded), the student will be placed on academic suspension. The student may be readmitted only after completion of a remediation plan recommended by the academic unit and approved by the Dean of the Graduate School. No course work taken as part of the remediation plan may count toward the student's degree or CGGPA. Graduate-level courses for which grades below C were earned may not be repeated during the remediation period."
  4. Well my GPA requirements should be golden. I could have two A's in the other courses. My school is Auburn if that helps.
  5. My advisor wanted me to take Technical Writing. Lately it's taken a back seat because of my deadlines for my proposal, and apparantly I did not do good on the last assignment in there.
  6. It maybe my last semester, because she is going to pull my assistantship. The only help she gave me was a basic outline with an introduction, lit review research question, hypothesis, expected results etc. no length what so ever. She accused me of using "secondary sources" recently and called me lazy. This wasn't true. All the papers I cited were original papers. I have a feeling I've ruined my life by making this decision because I don't think she would write me a good letter.
  7. Long story short I started last semester. I've never written a Thesis proposal before. My advisor wanted it done before Christmas so in less than 3 months. Obviously that didn't happen. I would send her drafts to see if I was on the right track, and never got a response. These days I'm still struggling with it, and every time I talk to her she changes her mind. For example in my last draft under my methods she wrote "what about flow analysis". This morning I told her I have a paper on the way about modeling variable flow in tail waters, and she bitched and yelled at me for that. All she does is bitch and yell at me without helping me, or she postpones our "meetings" so she can bitch and yell at me later. I have been given a referendum to get this approved before May 3rd or I'm out. Ftr I'm trying to get a MS degree. Will any of this hinder me when it comes to interviewing if I don't make it?
  8. So I'm in my second semester finishing up my proposal. I'm a masters student so I've never done anything like this before. My advisor wanted it done by Thanksgiving which wasn't going to happen. I never got any guidance from her, and I sent her stuff asking if I'm on the right track and she never responded. This semester she handed me a notice that if it isn't approved by May 3rd I'm out. Anyway, I'm worried I made the worst mistake of my life and I will receive "less than glowing" recommendations from her when I graduate which will keepn me from being employed. For the record if she can talk to me about specifics I will have my proposal done before the end of the month.
