  1. I totally understand that it does not make sense nor be anyway helpful to be paranoid. And also, my depts seem to have send out their offers not only one round. Anyway, good luck to all.
  2. Hello, Nightgaunts I applied the program you said two years ago, when they changed the name of the program to Quantitative Methods. With that being said, the program was the original biostat program. If I remember correctly, secretary used to say there was no much changing in terms of curriculum. Anyway, that is what I remembered, and hopefully it will be helpful.
  3. Just curious. How is your GPA or GPA relevant? Do some of the departments you want to apply require a B average?
  4. Okay, some translations are weird for a foreign transcript indeed.
  5. Thank you, cyberwulf. Actually I am in US now, guess I will mention it a little bit in my personal statement.
  6. Hello all, I am taking the course called Adv Cal this semester for my application for biostat PhD. But I noticed that different universities have different types of Adv Cal. Some mean calculus with multi-variables, others mean more of an analysis type of course. In my case, we are studying Real Mathematical Analysis by Pugh. Do I need to clarify this in any part of my application? If I don't, will it influence my app? Thank you for any input.
  7. Thank you. How I wish I were able to take this in the following spring semester...
  8. Hi,all. I am an international student in my first year of a MS program in a top 15 biostat department , and I am considering to go for a PhD degree seriously. Based on the info I found online, real analysis seems to be pretty significant and strongly recommended by some top biostat programs. Well, in my specific case, my courses taken in the first year are really fixed, and I would not have extra credits to take real analysis(not required by my MS program) until the second fall semester, by which i will have already started my PhD app. Will taking this course still be helpful even if I might not be able to submit the final grade of it when I apply? Thank you
  9. I am thinking about going to U Pitts for their Biostat program. I found they have a good ranking on public health, but how is their Biostat program specifically? Is it solid? Anything related will be helpful and appreciated. Thanks
