still running in circles trying to decide between phd's at uw-madison, northwestern, ucsb, and even just a masters at ut-austin. should know by now but quite simply don't. quick poll: wondering how people rank the following factors when it comes to giving weight to each in the decision making process: -faculty -social culture of department/students -funding (more specifically, amount/number of guaranteed years of stipend assessed with cost of living) -TA duties/opportunities -other research opportunities -location -other (e.g. professionalizing efforts by faculty, other professional opportunities in the location, semester vs quarter system, whatever is important to you, etc)

sorry, letmein, et al, if i'm being unclear. my last post meant to indicate that northwestern has been notifying accepted students (i received a call last week). this follows what they'd told me and what i'd posted previously about finishing interviews the first week of march.

hi all, haven't really followed this but here's what i've got so far-- accepted: UCSB, UT-Austin interviewed at UW-Madison, Northwestern haven't heard from anyone else (the usual lot) madison says they're still waiting to see how many current students stay on and need funding
