This process for me is by no means winding down! I have 2 questions for the board: 1)Has anyone heard formally from UNC? 2)With one exception, I've not received a solid funding offer with acceptances - either more information is forthcoming OR I've been waitlisted for $$. Any thoughts on whether this is normal in anthropology and/or whether there is merit to this probable funding? Also, any thoughts on going to a dream program without definite funding?

Folks who are waiting on Florida - just FYI, I got an informal email a couple weeks ago from a professor with whom I'd been incontact saying I was accepted, but have not received the actual letter yet either. Also, I stumbled across this thread in a forum on the Chronicle for HIgher Ed website that I found interesting: http://chronicle.com/forums/index.php/t ... 636.0.html Gives an idea of what might be going on on the other side!

For the first time in my life, I was excited about a Monday. Then I realized it's Presidents' Day....no postal service.

The acceptance from UFL was an informal email from the grad program assistant (that I solicited). Formal letters go out the end of next week. notyourmama, I haven't heard anything from UNC - how did you hear of your acceptance/funding?
