  1. So excited to meet everyone...congrats vonkitty!!
  2. Oh and Eihpos, I initially accepted my offer at Texas State on the 15th, but will definitely be telling them I am attending UT now. I've read that this is somewhat frowned upon, but acceptable. So, you should tell PSU, "No hard feelings, but I want to be a Longhorn!!!"
  3. I was accepted too...congrats everyone!!!
  4. Slptobewee and eihpos, where did you decide to accept?
  5. There was a post last year on April 16th that someone got in off UT's waitlist, so I'm hoping we hear tomorrow.
  6. Slptobewee, do you know where you are accepting yet? Also, did you do your undergrad at UT? There is a Facebook page for accepted UT students, and only 9 members...just trying to get a feel for anyone who has an idea about how many UT undergrads are accepting/declining UT offers.
  7. Dang, seriously? August? Don't know why I had June in my head. Maybe that's when they said apps for TA positions are due. Anyway, can't believe they wait that long. That has to significantly lower the number of students that choose their program. Very confusing
  8. Vonkitty, maybe these past year stats from UTs website will make you feel better: http://www.utexas.edu/ogs/prospective/stats/
  9. Tons of out-of-state students apply to several top programs with no intention of going. Plus UT doesn't disclose financial aid info til June, which causes a lot of students to decline.
  10. Vonkitty, your answer is above in this thread. They've admitted 58 and want a class of 35. So they need 23 no's before they move to the waitlist. That number isn't as big as it seems though
  11. Just wanted to know how up to date her estimate was. I was kind of hoping it was more recent, and she was basing it on admission responses already returned this year...but April 3rd was a ways back, so I have a feeling she was probably basing that estimate on numbers from past years. Oh well. Thanks for the response!!
  12. When did Dana send you that email?
  13. Oops, forgot the link: http://www.utexas.edu/ogs/prospective/stats/
  14. Here's the link for those past admitted vs enrolled statistics. On second look its more like 30-45% for most years. Still less than half, so likely less than 29 of the first rounders will accept leaving at least 6 more spots. This means they will likely have to go at least 12 spots deep on the waitlist, but likely deeper.
  15. UT accepted 58 students so far, and wants a class of 35. according to statistics I found on UT's website, typically 30-35% of admitted students accept UT's offer. Although, this percentage has been as high as the 50s in a couple years. I am pretty optimistic about my chances to get in off thr waitlist. Just curious what perks does TxState have? I'm not too familiar with the program.
