  1. Chicago answered, finally, just as expected, anothe rejection , this is the last one, the tally is 5 rejections, 2 acceptances and waitlist. We'll see what happens with the waitlist and with a Masters in Holland I also applied to, keeping my fingers crossed.
  2. What i have seen so far is that most universities only invite either accepted or waitlisted candidates to open houses, I have also heard that some make a shortlist and invite all short listed candidates, later they will choose admitted students from this shortlist. So yes, being invited could mean good news although if you were already admitted they would likely have told you already. In conclusion it probably means that you are either shortlisted or waitlisted.
  3. Yep but it is from last month, I'm waiting for my rejection I don't think they accept people gradually over two months, it's probably the usual rejection delay (although this one is proving really lengthy.
  4. On a similar line, I've noticed that you have to be subscribed to the LSA to attend the institute, the price for afiliation is diferent if you are a student or an independant, If have already graduated from my past program and will be begining my Ph.D in august-september, would I count as a student for the years subscription or will I have to pay extra for being in between programs?
  5. Same here, I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one waiting on this. I was able to make arrangements to go to the Open House, hopefully I will be able to learn more, I will keep you informed.
  6. Oh and yes, It would certainly be nice to hear about Chicago sometime...
  7. Well, it was my POI who wrote to me personally regarding the wait list, I haven't asked about my chances specifically but the tone of the email suggested that there was some possibility, I mean, they would not have a wait list unless there was some chance right? I am hoping that some of the accepted candidates might be so good that they will get a lot of offers, maybe Stanford or MIT, etc and choose somewhere else instead but I don´t know too much about that possibility, which is why I decided to post asking. Anyway, there is people who get accepted to multiple universities so they must decline several of them, who knows, maybe we'll get lucky. Trying to keep a positive attitude here although I often tell myself not get my hopes too high. Did you ask your POI about your chances MissTrace? Good luck and lets hope for the best, for both of us
  8. This is my first post here even though I've been stalking the results site for nearly two months and more recently this forum. First of all congratulations to those who have got admissions offers and good luck and lots of patience and good thoughts and hope for those who have only gotten rejections so far, I got 4 negatives before my first acceptance and was starting to think that all was hopeless. I wanted to ask, if it's not too rude, whether any of the admitted into NYU (i've seen many in the results page but none in this forum) is thinking about declining the offer, I am really anxious about the waitlist since I would really like to go to NYU. Also does anyone know what size are waitlists usually and how would it work if people Accept/ Decline offers on the last minute? Also, I saw someone who is waitlisted for CUNY on the forums, have faith, if I get my spot in NYU you will probably get yours for CUNY, even though my mind is not yet completely made, and I would love to attend either, it seems like I will not be getting any funding at CUNY (since apparently they already notified those with fellowships) and would choose NYU w funding over CUNY w/out. In the meantime, while we all wait and check our emails 300+ times a day, good look to everyone.
