  1. yellowshoes, thanks - I'm IR.
  2. Also in at the University of Washington. Email says about 210 applications were received, and they hope to enroll 12.
  3. Congrats to the Princeton admits. What a staggering achievement!
  4. Thanks, guys. The email was from the DGS, but aside from my name, it was not personalized.
  5. Woohoo! In at UPenn! Letter (email) says less than 5% of applicants accepted.
  6. I also got a late email from USCD and UC-Irvine. Congrats to everybody else.
  7. I also got one of the later Berkeley acceptances, after resigning myself to rejection upon seeing the posts earlier this morning. Keep the faith, guys and gals.
  8. I got an acceptance email from UNC today, also from the Graduate Admissions director. Aside from my name, I don't know that it was designed specifically for me but it did contain the information fromark alludes to. A few hours later, I got a nice, fairly detailed and unambiguously personalized email from one of the IR faculty members.
  9. Woohoo! In at Northwestern (by email).
  10. Thanks, guys. Ahab, I was notified by telephone. Definitely more exciting than receiving an email, but until I receive some documentation, I'm questioning whether it actually happened.
  11. Woohoo, in at the University of Michigan! And thanks fromark and rwfan for the feedback.
  12. I also received an email from Ohio, but it didn't say anything about their committment to funding/providing a stipend. It said,"[T]he Department has nominated you for a University Fellowship. These Fellowships are awarded by the Graduate School in a campus-wide competition to the top applicants for graduate study at Ohio State. The results of the Graduate Fellowships will be announced in mid-March, well before you have to make a final decision about where to pursue your graduate studies (that deadline is April 15, 2010). Once the Fellowship awards are announced, I will be able to provide detailed information about the financial award package we will be able to offer you." I hope I'm misinterpreting this, but it doesn't seem as though they're offering me departmental funding. Depressing. Anybody else get this?
  13. I'm a longtime lurker here, but thought I'd get involved in the discussion (or at least post a couple times). My subfield is IR. Today I got accepted to Michigan State (via email, full funding package, it looks like) and Ohio State (via the website, no more information at this time). Last week I got into UC-Davis, with 5400 dollars for two quarters each and in-state tuition paid for; unfortunately, as an out-of-stater, I'd still have to pay a lot, maybe 20k, for the first year. I've got 16 more schools I'm waiting on, although it looks like a couple (Stanford, UNC) have already made their decisions. Anyway, good luck to all and I hope we all hear from our schools of choice.
