Ugh, don't say it!!! But you are probably right. I'm convinced that I will be selected as an alternate and then the waiting will just be prolonged even further.

I already did this a few weeks ago so I can't write her again! Since I took one for the team I think one of you brave souls should try next-- she's really nice and responds quickly, so you don't need to be scared.

So, I took the plunge and emailed Ashley Prather, the Caribbean and Central America coordinator, to see if she knew about a notification date for us. This was her response: "Unfortunately, I do not. Last year these came in mid-May, with the budget situation this year it could be later. I am actively working to prevent that this year; however, typically this region is one of the last to announce the awards due to the regional funding structure. Don’t worry and keep waiting – no news is good news!" Looks like plenty of waiting for us Stupid sequester!

For what it's worth, the Central American/Caribbean applicants are still here!

So great to hear from other Caribbean applicants, especially for the British Caribbean! Good luck to you and everyone else from the Caribbean and Central America. Here's hoping for some news in the near future!

Hi there, Caribbean lurker here. I applied for a full grant to Barbados. I saw that last year the Caribbean applicants didn't find out until May-- I'm really hoping that it's sooner this year!
