[University of California at Berkeley MSW Fall 2013 Applicants]

Hello Everyone,

 

I've never posted before, but have found these types of forums extremely helpful. I was refering to this particular thread over and over again, especially as the date grew nearer for admission. I found out last Friday, March 15th, that I was accepted into the CMH concentration through an email from the department, and recently received an official acceptance from the graduate division! I wish the best of luck to everyone else, hang in there.

I got waitlisted for the Health Services concentration this week, and while I am happy with the possibility of still being admitted I am dreading the next 1-2 months of further waiting.

 

When I asked about the waitlist process, they told me that there were 12 spots alotted to the Health concentration (yikes!) and they do not release how many people are on the waitlist. When they said the waitlist is not ranked they meant that depending on the spaces that open up they will pick someone that they feel will bring a unique perspective and background to the cohort, in place of the person who withdrew. I like there approach but the waiting will be a strenuous exercise in patience and restraint lol

Thanks Paige, Weird that I didnt get it cus my email is correct online. Hoping this isn't a bad omen for my admission! On the other hand maybe it is great for all of you! Best of luck

Yes, I also received the email.  When I saw it, my heart skipped a few beats because I thought it might be the admissions decision. It was really unexpected because no one mentioned getting it in last year's thread (check above). Maybe its the first year they're doing it?

 

I think my obsessive checking will subside for a week or two (and then pick up right where I left off).

Yep, I got that. It got me all excited/nervous at first because I thought it would be an acceptance/rejection email

Frustrating! I just want to know already. Patience is not my strong suit

Hey Everyone,

 

While it was nice to hear that we will be hearing from Berkeley the week of March, I'm now freaking out cus I didn't receive an email stating this. I was wondering if the emails were in response to emails you had all sent already or was it independent of you contacting them? Please advise and save me from myself!
