ohnoes

Hi guys, I was accepted into a graduate program today. I received several emails from the program, including a personal congratulatory message from the graduate director (who is also a POI) that I have corresponded with previously. I thought I would acknowledge his very nice message, but I'm afraid I let it slip that I was accepted to another program, which I also mentioned by name. Did I create a bad impression here? He answered me back with unsolicited advertisement of his department, etc, and asking me to please give their program serious consideration. You know stuff that I already knew. I didn't intend for our communication to go in that direction, and it was entirely my fault. I am indeed seriously interested in that program, but it isn't my top choice per se, as I am waiting to hear back from several other schools. Am I overreacting here? Any suggestions of what to write back at this point?
