Hi everyone,
I'm a recently admitted NYU PhD student on a McCracken Fellowship, and am interested in living in the Stuyvesant Town apartments during my first year. I'm also gay, and am thus interested in finding an LGTB-friendly roomate. Gender doesn't matter, but you'll need to also be in the McCracken Scholars program in order to be eligible. I've researched the apartment complex and it looks like a pretty great deal- rent comes out to roughly $1075/month (about 40% of the stipend). The apartments are furnished, and include all utilities except for TV/internet. Internet is obviously a must, but I'm okay with skipping cable. The location is pretty prime, ie walkable to NYU and in a safe area with security.
About me: I'm a mid-20's American male with a neat/orderly living style. I'm obviously pretty serious about school work (and assume you are too), but I did my undergrad and masters at a big state school and like having fun, going out, etc on the weekends when I'm able to. I'm really looking forward to hitting up the Manhattan bar/club scene (probably once a month or so if I can afford it...) and generally exploring the city. I'm also your typical PhD nerd and love politics, video/computer games, sci fi/fantasy stuff, etc.
About you: Please (1) have a neat/orderly lifestyle, (2) have a sociable/fun/engaging personality without being a total party animal (or total shut-in) and (3) goes without saying, be comfortable living with an LGBT roomie.
Just to be clear, this isn't a dating ad, and I'm equally happy living with males/females who are gay/straight/etc :-) Send me a message with more info about yourself if interested!
