  1. Rejected for Fulbright ETA Spain :(. Was an at-large candidate with a lot of teaching experience and did very well in school... I guess it wasn't meant to be.

Anyone know of any other teaching opportunities in Spain? I already know of the auxiliary program...but I steered clear of it because of some horror stories about not getting paid.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated and congrats to all of you going abroad! :)

I share in your disappointment. I also looked into the auxiliary program, but after reading countless blogs, I did not think it was worth it to go through the application. I hope you find something! If it's meant to be, it will be. I suppose that this year just was not our time.

  2. E-mails will come out.... tomorrow...

bet your bottom dollar that tomorrow, there'll be some...

    just thinking about...tomorrow

Makes me refesh my inbox and have sorrow... cuz there's none

When I'm stuck with a day that's gray and lonely

I just stick out my chin and grin and say

    E-mails will come out.... tomorrow

So you got to hang on till tomorrow, come what may...

Tomorrow, tomorrow, Please Fulbright, tomorrow! You're always a day away...

I appreciate this, especially since I love Annie

  3. Me too!  I think that is probably pretty typical.   :)  I am studying Spanish and Anthropology.  How about you?  What did you propose to do while you are there?

I'm a psychology major with minors in Spanish and photography. There are certain things that happened AFTER the deadline that could have strengthened my app (maybe). I proposed to do an after school photography club that would require the students to go out into the community and document life in Spain. We'd then discuss photos together each week. It's pretty simple. What did you propose? I saw a vid once with one of the Fulbright people from Spain. She said that they don't care what you propose (as long as it's feasible) - they just want to see that you're proposing to spend your time doing something outside the classroom.

  4. They were sent out on April 15th last year!  That was a Sunday meaning that we could still hear over the weekend too I guess!

Hey! Are you applying for an ETA or a full grant?

  5. Update for applicants to Spain:

IIE is hoping to hear from Spain this week. :)

Immediate notifications will be emailed once the names are released.

Well that's good to hear. Hopefully those emails do come in this week - with good news!
