  1. Thanks for the info.! I was wondering... and this doesn't make me impressed by NU. Luckily I've a deposit elsewhere, but would like to know nonetheless.
  2. If it's the same as last summer, then they will offer all of the 3 above (plus 1-2?) because some of their incoming class needs to complete all of the prereqs. I took Audiology at Emerson last year during the second session. The class met twice a week (6 weeks total) as it's a four credit class. I believe their "Speech Science" summer course is called something like Acoustic Bases? FYI, I'm taking Speech Science through distance education at Utah State University, and it's pretty good for an online course. Work load is manageable. I think you'd learn a lot more at Emerson, NEU, or MGH, and be more challenged, but it's a nice option to consider.
  3. Kcald, thanks for your thoughts and the information. It's interesting to hear how others go through their decision-making process. Congrats on your decision to enroll at ECU! Sounds like a great choice for you at this point in your career, and that you might circle back to USC someday? jmarti, it seems you have an interest in USC? Finances aside, I was asking if people had strong opinions on the program that would sway them in one direction or the other. It sounded like some folks really had their hearts set on this one.
  4. I heard through the grapevine that their current class is pretty large, around 60 students. Sounds a little over enrolled to me, and I worry there might be "competition" for clinical placements? My friend who is currently in her first year of their program loves the experience so far. She didn't didn't hear anything re: an admissions offer or waitlist until ~April 8th last year. I'm still waiting to hear back, too, and I submitted in early January.
  5. Would love to hear people's general thoughts on the University of South Carolina's MSP program, as I'm now trying to make a tough decision by 3/25! I wasn't expecting to receive an offer, and reality is just setting in. Also, has anyone heard if assistantship/funding offers (if any?) have already been made? I'm an out-of-stater who is unsure if I can swing this one financially, and their Financial Aid office said they won't be issuing offers until April 1 (note: after the notification deadline). I am playing with the idea of attending a less expensive in-state though less reputable school to avoid spending my life crippled with debt. If I was on a PhD track I'd go here as I like their cochlear implant and neurogenics tracks, however I just want an MS and to live happily ever after. SLPs to be, what would make you choose this school over another?
